Easter

When I was little, Easter was all about going to church wearing a new Easter bonnet, so when I found this little sticker buried deep in the depths of my stash, I knew I would have to use it for this week's tag.
I used an embossed paper frame as a background, and added an Easter basket sticker.
It had to be a very simple tag this time, as there hasn't been much time for fun in the P.P. household this week.
Happy Easter everyone!

Easter

I'm back!- Sorry I haven't been around to play for the last two weeks- life has taken over and there has been no time for fun. My tag was made using a vintage picture of a pretty little girl dressed in her Easter bonnet and holding a bunch of daffodils. I kept it simple with a vintage Easter greeting and some lace and a ribbon. Apologies the picture quality is poor as the light hasn't been very good for photography.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

"easter"

Not really a tag - but it could have been!
I haven't had time to make a tag this week - see blog,

I'll be back soon! Connie.

Easter

Here is mine:

Some lace, rabbit ears, a bit stitching and two flowers, all on painted lutradur.

Happy Easter to you all!!!

And I have a price drawing.
If you want to win a bunch of leftover bits and pieces you can leave a comment until tonight at my prize drawing post.

Eostre

For me the festivities of Ostara celebrate the Spring, and renewal of life and the promotion of fertility.
Some believe in a maiden goddess named Eastre or Eostre who is honoured with a spring festival where hares and rabbits were considered sacred to Eostre because the are extremely fertile animals. In many cultures rabbits and eggs are valuable remedies for fertility problems.

The Easter bunny has a long history as a pagan symbol that pre-dates the christian holiday and it is thought that early christians adopted the pagan hare to make their own holiday more popular. The The story of the Easter Bunny which delights children so much in America comes from the legend of a humble little rabbit's dealings with the Goddess Eostre. As the story goes, the little rabbit wanted so much to please his Goddess that he laid sacred eggs in her honour and decorated them in beautiful rainbow colours. When the rabbit presented Eostre with his gift, she was so pleased that she desired for everyone to share in her joy and asked the little rabbit to go throughout the world distributing the little gifts.

My Eostre celebration tag includes the colours for spring, rainbow coloured eggs, the fertile hare, and the goddess Eostre. I've used angelina fibres for a bit of sparkle and paper bunting.
Eostre blessings to all. xXx

Easter

I'm really enjoying being part of 'tag tuesday' I love looking at what everyone creates.
I found a beautiful image by J C Leyendecker an American illustrator. My printer is rubbish so I ended up putting a wash of pink watercolour over it which I quite liked.I added a few vintage flowers and a bit of bling. I photographed it on an old tray cloth that I cram jar dyed recently which had almost identical colours in it.
Happy Easter everyone.
Fond Regards. Pat

Easter

Sorry to have missed last weeks tag, but I'm back now! What does Easter mean? I decided to go back to magpies...according to myth, they were the only birds at the crucifixion who didn't wear full mourning, and so were condemned to wear 'half mourning' from that day on. I made a little magpie out of fab foam and printed it directly onto the tag. Then I used my lovely old typewriter for the text.
I would like to wish you all a very Happy Easter and take this opportunity to thank Carolyn for setting up this lovely project.

best wishes to you all

Easter

Happy Easter to Tuesday Tag friends! My tag this week features a sample I did for an embroidery sometime ago - it was an idea for a priest's vestment, so I thought it would do well "re- purposed' for this Easter themed tag. I didn't post a tag for last week, as I hadn't quite finished it, but here it is now - alphabet stickers, painted/textured wire shaped into a nest, and some tiny polymer clay eggs. Now I am going to spend some time looking at all your wonderful tags.

Easter

easter baskets and egg hunting in the garden, peeps (i eat a dozen of them all by myself) and the new easter outfit with coordinating hat and shoes all spell easter when surrounded by children. they are too young to understand the true meaning of easter in the christian world. but to me, the meaning of easter is far more profound. so profound in fact that i watch jesus of nazareth every single year, lest i forget his five wounds. easter symbolizes the time to remember Christ's eternal gift, and gives us renewed hope.

"The word Easter is from Eastre, a Norse goddess whose pagan festival was observed at the spring equinox. The association of this pagan goddess with the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ was only by adaptation and synthesis. There is no real connection.... It thus became a springtime anniversary, in rememberance of the goddess of spring and dawn and has come to be called Easter in the Christian world."

therefore, the tag i created for this week holds a lot of sentiment and meaning to me. it was simply created with a chalk pink pencil, some light blue acrylic paint, collage, a scripture in spanish from a vintage misal, a heart button which i painted gray to age it a bit and two vintage lapel pins from my religious items collection.

Angels, roll the rock away;
Death, yield up thy mighty prey:
See, He rises from the tomb,
Glowing with immortal bloom.
Thomas Scott, “Easter Angels”

wishing you all a happy and hopeful easter

Easter

Easter Greetings fromSunny Bournemouth. Easter for me is the first real holiday of the year and (weather permitting) chance for a family dayout.

I had such a lovelytime when I shared Tag Tuesday with my daughter Laura on Mother’s Day that Ithought I would share Tag Tuesday with more of my family and friends by havingan Easter Craft Day at the seaside.
OnMonday this week we took advantage of a sunny day and 12 of us met up at thebeach hut for a fun day. We had a barbeque, cakes and of course lots ofchocolate!

We collected sea-shells, builtsandcastles, and made Easter cards and tags.
Wefinished the day with an Easter Bunny hunt.

My tag this week is a memory tag of the day.
On the front of the tagis a bright yellow beach-hut and my ticket for the cliff lift. There is a tassel on the bottom of the tag with some sea-shells found on the beach.
The beach hut pops open to reveal a Happy Easter greeting and some Easter Eggs

I got everyone who camethat day to sign an oval tag. Thisbecame the back of the tag. There iseven a doodle of my dog, Bailey.
Here are some of my lovely family with their stash of chocolate bunnies.

Wishing everyone aHappy Easter
love Jane xx

Easter

This is my little tag for easter - a vintage photo which I printed in sepia - but then was very disappointed at the outcome, so I over coloured it with water colour pencils. A sepia coloured tag with a daisy stamping (supposed to look like primroses, lol). Lace added and coloured with yellow watercolour paint, finished with a piece of yellow ribbon. This has been photographed against a photo of an area around my village which is in our village calendar this year. Enjoy the days this weekend!

Easter

I rummaged through my lace box and came across this little beauty...

....So I decided to use this for the base of my tag.
I digtally altered some free clip art images, then printed them onto some printable fabric...
...added lace, vintage and wooden buttons, gingham, coin envelope, safety pin, flower charm and a little stitching...

...and the netted mesh ribbon is recycled from some recent garden furniture packaging.

Wishing you all a
Happy Easter time!
Thanks for peeking!

Easter

Hi Everyone, Jane in Berkshire here.
I am a bit late posting this week, as we had a quick dash to Canterbury to help our eldest son move house.
Here is my Easter Bonnet tag.
I used an image from my favourite Victorian fashions book and coloured it in. The lady has updated her wardrobe for Easter by trimming the cuffs with lace and her Easter bonnet with flowers.
I used card stock as a background and placed my lady on top of it. I sewed some lovely flower beads onto the picture, and gave her an earring. I used some flowers made from an old gardening catalogue using 2 different shaped cutters and added some stick- on flowers from my stash, before finishing off with a nice bright ribbon.

I added a close up photo to see the detail of the flowers. Hope the original photo is clear enough, I took it against a background of spring tulips from a magazine.

Happy Easter to you all!

WASHI TAPE, DOODLY BIRDS & EASTER

I really did'nt know where I was going with this one this week. The only thing I had in mind were the lovely comments I keep receiving about my Doodly Birds, so I did think I would keep them on the scene, especially as they performed so well at the weekends craft fair

Then marks out of 10 for Washi Tape. I started messing about with some new rolls I had just received from PAPERMASH and before I knew what I was doing hey presto my tag had taken shape.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Easter Tag

When I saw that our next theme was Easter, I knew I wanted to use this silhouette stamp of a little girl dancing through the grass with a bouquet and basket of eggs. I love the sentiment stamp- "Nothing is so beautiful as Spring", and thought they were a good match. The butterflies give some dimension. Thanks for letting me play along.

Easter

Hi everybody, here are my Easter tags. I made a water.colour background. The images on both tags are from Heartfelt creations, the egg stamp and embellishments are from my stash. Hope you all have a very happy Easter. Take care, and thanks for visiting! Valerie

Easter

Hi everyone Yvonne here from my little Boxoftrix Studio,
I have been following along with the themes on my own blog until now
and I'm delighted to be joining Tag Tuesday
with the 'Easter' themed tag.
The card tag is from a recycled greeting card which had a lovely lilac floral printed background,
I edged this with purple iridescent Markal Paintstik. The little cross is made from a woody branch of magnolia, the sections bound together with brown linen thread.

The little dove and crystal are from a wedding we recently attended,
they were scattered all over the table.

The Lillie's are a printed paper cut out
The words Sacred Spirit are printed on a ribbon which was attached to a clothing tag.
I added a simple white thin satin ribbon tie to finish.
I'm enjoying the Tag Tuesday Challenge every week and delighted to be part of the team!

Easter

I wanted to try and convey what Easter means to me, so I created a double layer tag. One part represents Good Friday - watching the crucifixion scene from Jesus of Nazareth was the moment I decided to be a Christian, thinking that Jesus loved me enough to go through that for me. The other part of the tag represents Easter Sunday - it's about the joy and happiness that comes with the resurrection. For both tags I used watercolour pencils. The cross is made from brown parcel paper, and I used gel pens for the details.
I hope everyone enjoys the Easter weekend, and for those who gave up chocolate for Lent - not long now, enjoy those Easter Eggs!
Jo

Easter

Hello everyone. I wanted to make a tag to symbolise the Easter Story this week, so I chose the Last Supper and have had a go at portraying it in a symbolic form:
Tag Tuesday. Easter.
The 'disciples' are all cut from different pieces of brown and orange paper and their faces punched from painted paper. Jesus I kept in white with a gold halo. Then I stuck a tablecloth over the shapes and punched tiny circles from painted card for their goblets which I added shading to. The jug was drawn and cut from the same paper and then I painted a loaf of bread. It is not a 'pretty' tag and I would have liked to have made it more dainty but it seems to say what I wanted it to. For whatever your spiritual leanings I hope you have love and joy this Easter and can share a meal with your loved ones. I look forward to seeing all your wonderful work. With love xx

Easter

This is my very simple tag for Easter week. I found this quote in a tiny prayer book
bought in a second hand shop: "The Cross shows what sin can do - and what love can bear. Good Friday is the day of the Love of God". Of whatever persuasion you find yourself
this Easter, I wish you Love.

EASTER

Hi everyone,
I have had a few weeks break from Tag Tuesday as I got married just over a week ago. We organised it all in 3 weeks, and a disproportionate amount of time and energy (enough to keep me away from my studio!) was spent on what was a very small event!
I have done a real 'rush job' this afternoon on these tags, simply because I didn't want another week to pass without joining in!
My nephews are having one of these tags each on their Easter Eggs.

Happy Easter to you all!

Easter

Let me apologize to anyone who gets this song stuck in their head like I have now! The sheet music cover is from ye olde internet. The woman image is cut from a collage sheet put out by youratcstore.com. The background is scrapbook papers. I used a couple of real feathers from a molting bed pillow. I hope everyone has a nice Easter!

Easter

Spring time is easter time! Happy easter to everyone!
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Carolyn last week- in the beautiful St.Ives!
It was lovely and we enjoyed the sun, the beaches and the walks!
Carolyn shared it on her blog and I will do so tomorrow.

It was already spring time!

So I am inspired by springcolours.
I made photocopies of one of my little artwork and added scrapbooking-paper and stamping to it.

The little flowers are from my garden.

Love and sunshine

Easter

I love the song Easter Parade and it inspired this tag. I decided to try a vintage tag for this week. First, I made a vintage paper doll. I created a lovely dress for her and made a coordinating backing on the tag in pinks and browns. I loved the bird cages, so I also placed a little bird on her wrist and used the opening lyrics of Easter parade on the round tag attached. Of course, the crowning touch was her bonnet...her Easter bonnet, complete with ribbon, glitter, and a tiny paper rose.

Easter

My tag represents what Easter means to me. I love Simnel cake, all that marzipan! And of course chocolate and as my mother is a very keen gardener; as a child our garden always seemed to be full of daffs, tulips and polyanthus in these colours- Easter/Spring to me!
I cut the egg shaped tag from a box that I no longer needed, photo copied and coloured the info on Simnel cakes. Flowers were some that were already in my stash and some were punched. Flowers were stitched to some lime green organza to add depth and texture. Re-purposed a piece of a broken necklace to hang it.

EASTER

Hi, everyone so sorry I missed out last week tooo much going on in life!!! so I was determined I was not missing again... so here is my Easter Theme tag. I have cut the tag using Tim holtz's large tag die the butterfly is also from TH, I loved the colour of the vintage lady in the pic so decided to go with that colour on most elements!!! The background of the tag I embossed I am not sure if you can see but it looks uncompleted This I done on purpose in my madness I thought it would help to age the tag!!! the butterfly I coloured with tattered angel glimmer mist (apple) added some ribbon & lace and a bunny charm!! On the back of the tag.. again I have used a TH die for the bunny which I embossed using TH embossing powder (frayed burlap) and added a small tag I think you have guessed I like this guy TH....

looking foward to seeing all your wonderful creations this week Hugs May x x x x Happy Easter x x
